The Green Tiger Beetle, Cincindela sexgutata, is a gem in any insect collection. This beetle is found mostly in moist, hardened sandy areas along creek beds. They flit along from position to a new landing just as you approach them. This species seems to be common throughout Pittsylvania County in mid-summer seasons.
